Red vs Black and other important info
Stroke Camp went great this week. Thanks to all who attended and everyone who helped out. Big shout out to everyone who had to get in the water as it got a little chilly this week. Lots of new Sea Lions this year! Couple of important things to go over before next week.
1.) Let's talk Red vs Black. This is our "Mock Meet" to help everyone get geared up for the season. Kids will swim all stokes that they are eligible for so they can get an official time. Since this meet establishes seed times for our dual meets, please make every effort to attend. Makeup time trials will take place on Monday the 11th at your child's regular practice time but the Red VS Black is fun, the best way to see how a meet is run and the easiest way to get those essential seed times. It gets a little hectic on makeup day to get seed times and run a practice so please make every effort to attend. I need you to log in to your account and RSVP for this meet by Sunday at midnight. For all meets going forward from here you will do the same - RSVP for the meet by midnight the Sunday before. You can do this one of two ways. After you sign in you can go to ACTIONS and then PARENT PAGE and RSVP from there. The second way is to go to the calendar and select the Red VS Black meet and click on the RSVP button. If you have any special instructions (they will be leaving early, they can't swim butterfly etc) there is a notes box for you to write any requests you may have. All stroke requests become final on Thursdays so please talk to your age group coach or myself before then. Please, let me know if you have any questions or are having a hard time logging into your account. From either page you can also double check your volunteer shifts and times. I will be posting the teams at the pool around mid week.
2.) Look for pep rally information to come out on Monday.
3.) Regular practice starts next week for all of our awesome Sea Lions. Kim Kelley, our team manager, is looking for some parent volunteers to help with the 6 & under group and our 7/8's group. We have over a 100 kids in those two groups and we would like to ensure their safety and have a little fun. I'm attaching a link to a SignUp Genius page where you can sign up to help. If you prefer not to create an account (if you don't have one) please email me and I can enter your name in.
