Notes for the week and meet results

Hello Sea Lion families:  We are excited that the Red-Black Fun Meet went very well and was really FUN!  Sea Lions did a great job, whether on the red or black team. It was a tight competition right up to the last swim with only 5 points separating the two teams.  Congratulations to all Sea Lions!

If you go under Calendar and click on the "1st" button from the RedvsBlack meet you can see the meet results. From your parent page you can see your swimmers times and results.

We had a great first week of practice and encourage swimmers to continue to come as often as possible.   Most coaches are back and are excited to get to know all the swimmers. Practice times remain the same as last week:  6 and unders: 3:30 - 4:15; 7 and 8's: 4:15 - 5:00; 9 and 10's: 5:00 - 5:45; 11 and ups: 5:45 - 6:30. Remember that Friday practice is shortened to 30 minutes due to Pep Rallies at 6:00.  Please note these Friday times: 6 and unders: 3:30 to 4:00; 7 and 8's: 4:00 to 4:30; 9 and 10's: 4:30 to 5:00; 11 and up's: 5:00 to 5:30.

We are happy to welcome parents to the pool deck on Thursday practice.  Please remember that the kids are easily distracted…ask them to focus on their swimming and not on the parents watching!  On all other days, please watch from the park, behind the fence.  When scheduling, keep in the mind that the team is not responsible for children before or after their practice.

Coaches are focused strictly on safety in the pool and on the deck.  Please remind your children the importance of listening to the coaches. Our goal is for each swimmer to get the most of each practice! Good behavior is essential and will result in stronger, safer swimmers.

    Don’t forget:

Sign up at practice for food for Pep Rally by Thursday

Order 5- and 10-year towels at practice

RSVP on Sunday night for Saturday meets

Include Stroke Requests under "comments” when you RSVP

**Wear only solid swim caps or Sea Lion caps**  NO US swim team caps or college team caps are allowed per NWAL. Sea Lion team caps are sold in the park on Mondays and at home meets. Same goes for swimsuits – no team affiliation except for Sea LionsFailure to follow this rule can result in being disqualified from the meet!

Thanks to all parent volunteers who have been helping out in the water and on deck.  We appreciate your stepping up!  And swimmers, keep coming to practice! Let’s show the Greentree Gators how the Sand Creek Sea Lions rule their own pool this Saturday, May 16.  Swim fast!!
