Summer Champs Important Meet Info & Volunteer Requirements
June 5th
Hi Sea Lions,
We're so excited about Summer Champs this Sunday and Monday - we have the largest number of swimmers participating (93 total!) and the best news is it's an indoor meet at Kingwood High School Natatorium. Please read this email for some important meet information:
- Volunteer sign up - we need 3 families to sign up for Sunday afternoon and 6 families for Monday evening. Just go to Summer Champs under Swim Meets on our website, click on the V icon and you'll see them listed. If you click on the ? next to the shift it will give an indication of the events you will be timing. Please sign up today and make our Volunteer Coordinator extra happy on a Friday!
- Timeline & warm-ups: under Summer Champs on our website you will see a link to the Blue Tide website with the Timeline for both days and the warm up times. Sunday warm ups are 1.00-1.25 pm and the meet begins at 2.30 pm. Monday warm ups are 4.00-4.25 pm and the meet begins at 5.30 pm. Be sure to be there for warm-ups and cheers.
- Meet entries: by clicking on the swimmer icon next to Summer Champs on our website you can see which events your swimmer is signed up for. It does not show the Progressive Relays which take place on Monday evening. There is a separate document listing the swimmers in our girls and boys A&B teams. For our 10 & Unders swimming in these relays, unless you are arriving for warm-ups on Monday, please be sure to be at the High School by 6.45 pm.
- Fees: many thanks for all those who have already paid online or at the pool. The fee is $5 per individual event and the team pays the relay costs. There is a payment box at practice for you to leave your check or cash or pay online.
- Set up etc: the gymnasium is used for teams to set up - look for your team mates and listen for the Arfs and sit together with your team (bring chairs, blankets, snacks, games, etc.). There is no circle in desk but you must sign in with your age group parent and let them know you are there, get your events written on your arm. It can be quite cool in the gym and ready bench area. If your kid is swimming multiple events, bring extra towels and warm clothes (I know, it seems crazy to say that but trust us!) Heat sheets will be on sale at the pool.
If you have any questions, please contact Elizabeth Green, Debbie Hughes or Kim Kelley.
