Coaches Notes from FMKP meet
Hey Sea Lions!
What a meet we had this weekend! I am so proud of all our swimmers for putting out their best efforts at our first dual meet of the season. I can already tell Sea Lions are gonna be a step ahead this year. I saw a lot of Sea Lions inside the pool cheering on their fellow teammates as well as encouraging any teammates that got DQ’d or didn’t do as well as they hoped. This week in practice we’ll be sure to focus on some of the things that tripped up our swimmers so that next weekend we’ll be able to take Sea Lions higher and higher. See you at the pool!
- Head Coach Aaron (13 & Up)
What a great first meet!! I hoped everyone had as much fun as I did. I loved being able to come home and see almost everyone get in and swim! I saw some great freestyle and backstroke times, with a lot of kids dropping time already. For those that didn't, it's okay, we will work on that and get better throughout the season. This week I want to work on starts and more backstroke. Hopefully next week we won't have any false starts, or if we do, then they'll know what to do. I'm glad to be home and work with all the kids! ARF!
- Coach Jane & Devyn (6 & Under)
The 7/8’s did great at the meet this past weekend! Everyone was swimming fast, and trying hard. The biggest improvements were in everyone’s butterfly and breaststroke, and we will continue to work on these in practice to fix the last few DQ’s. This upcoming week we will also focus on starts and relay starts in practice. I’m very proud of all the 7/8 swimmers and how they performed and behaved at the meet! With more coaches returning to practices this week, we will be able to have even more eyes on the strokes and make additional improvements. Keep swimming fast!! Arf Arf!
- Coach Drew (7/8)
Hello to all! Upon returning home for the summer late this past week, I was thrilled to meet all of the kids, and I was very impressed by the way they performed at the FMKP meet, both in and out of the pool. I was excited to see how everyone cheered on their teammates. This upcoming week we will be focusing on stroke technique and starts to improve the overall quality of their swimming. Let’s keep encouraging our swimmers to continue to give 100% this week at practice, and I look forward to our upcoming meet against Fall Creek.
Arf Arf!
- Coach Kelsey (9/10)
Let me start this out by saying how excited to get to work with all of the swimmers this week! I saw a lot of really good things at the meet this weekend, and I look forward to getting started on ironing out some technique details. Our main focus this week is going to be on turns, freestyle techniques, and backstroke techniques. Keep up the good work, and keep swimming fast! Go Sea Lions!
- Coach Brent (11/12)
