Coaches Minutes from Fall Creek
Sea Lions!
We had another successful meet this weekend! Congratulations to all swimmers for bringing home another win. A lot of swimmers came to the coaches tent after their events to discuss their swim: what they did right, what they want to work on and if they were satisfied with their swim. I love when swimmers do this and I encourage every swimmer to stop by after their event to talk to their coach for a minute. I also continued to notice Sea Lions on the side of the pool cheering for their team mates as well as swimmers staying in the water until everyone in their heat was done. Keep up the good sportsmanship Sea Lions! Good sportsmanship ensures that everyone has the best experience they can at these meets.
See you at the pool!

I had a great first week back at practice! I enjoyed getting back to work with the kids. The meet went really well this past weekend, with the kids collectively dropping a lot of time. One thing we're going to focus on this week is turns, specifically backstroke flipturns, and breastroke/butterfly open turns. We're gonna need everyone to swim their best next weekend against Eagle Springs. Keep up the good work!

Hello to all! Great meet Sea Lions! The swimmers improved greatly with the number of DQ’s dropping. I enjoyed seeing the kids get out of their comfort zone and swim events they might not have necessarily liked. There were some great step-ups on relays, which made it exciting to watch. Let’s keep encouraging our swimmers to continue to give 100% this week at practice, and I look forward to our upcoming meet against Eagle Springs.
Arf Arf!

The 7/8s did great this weekend! We had a great meet with a lot less DQs and we're going to keep lessening those this week. With our strokes improving, this week in practice we will focus on transitions from starts to swimming so the kids will maintain their momentum and finishing to the wall rather than grabbing the bricks. These changes will cut a lot of time. Eagle Springs is going to be a fun meet and the kids will have to swim fast. I look forward to our strokes getting better and the kids dropping time with those small improvements! ARF ARF

WOW, what a fun meet! I loved seeing the kids ready to swim. The focus on backstroke this past week really paid off. Many swimmers are starting to enjoy and excel in backstroke. Although they were able to make it all the way across, they still had a problem turning over at the end. This week our main focus will be finishing on our backs. No one likes getting DQ'd! We would also like to practice relays so we can eliminate false starts. I am very impressed and proud of the 6 & under age group this week. Keep up the good work! ARF! ARF!
