Volunteer Update
Hello Sea Lion Families!
We are approaching the end of the 2016 Sea Lion season and our swimmers have had a great time in the pool and out. I would just like to mention a few items as we finish up our dual meet schedule and move into Summer Champs, Divisionals and the Invitationals; All Stars and Ponderosa.
This week end is very busy for our swimmers and volunteers:
- On Saturday we swim against Kings River and I happy to report there are only a few volunteer spots open. Our biggest need is for (2) Age Group Parents for 7-8 boys group. Please consider signing up if you have a child in that group or are in need of a volunteer shift.
- Sunday is the Summer Champs meet held at Kingwood High School. This is a Blue Tide sponsored event so they do not require the normal amount of volunteers as a regular dual meet. With that being said, they do ask for a few timers, so we will need the following:
- Various Age Group Parents
- (1) timer, Session I, Shift II, lane 4 (events 21-34)
- (2) timers, Session II, Shift I, lane 6 (events 35-58)
- (2) timers, Session II, Shift II, lane 6 (events 59-84)
Please see the volunteer sign-ups on the website. Remember if you have a swimmer participating in these special meets, your family is required to volunteer for a shift at that meet. There obviously aren't enough positions for everybody to have a shift but please volunteer if you are able.
I have had many questions regarding volunteer requirements with regard to last weeks cancellation of the Greentree meet? As a board, we have decided that if you were already signed up for a shift on the website, that will count towards your volunteer commitment. This includes your required concession shift.
This season has run so smoothly with families participating where needed. I want to thank you all for that.
Regards,
Nancy Sawyer
