    Red VS Black meet info

    Howdy Sea Lions!

1.) Let's talk Red vs Black. This is our "Mock Meet" to help everyone get geared up for the season. Check-in is at 7am, warm-up at 7:30 & meet starts at 8am sharp. Kids will swim all stokes that they are eligible for so they can get an official time. We know some kids will not want to swim a certain stroke or event. We ask that they just give it a try (doesn't matter what time they get) at the Red vs Black meet. We have to get a time for them or they can not swim that stroke at a NWAL sanctioned dual meet. Alot of kids don't feel comfortable at the start of the season but by the end of the season they feel like pros! Also, even though some events (such as the 50 free and 10 & Under IM) are listed as 10 & Under we usually only ask for the kids that are in the 9/10 age group to try those. We know that there are a handful of younger swimmers who like to participate in those events - Just email Elizabeth at the email address below to send in a request. Since this meet establishes seed times for our dual meets, please make every effort to attend. The Red Vs Black meet is fun, the best way to see how a meet is run and the easiest way to get those essential seed times. Makeup time trial times will be done next week (if you know you will miss the meet  - please email Elizabeth Green at [email protected] to arrange a time next week to get your seed times). It gets a little hectic on makeup day to get seed times and run a practice so please make every effort to attend. We will post teams at the pool around mid week.

**A change for this year. NWAL has changed the 100 free for 14 & Unders. Events 1 & 2  is now a 50 free for 10 & Unders and events 3 & 4 is the 100 free for kids ages 11-14.

** Another change for this year is that parents will be entering their kids strokes before the meet. This will start after the RED/BLACK meet but feel free to go ahead and log in to your parent page and select strokes for the Red/Black meet. The meet entry screen will pop up after you RSVP for the meet. to get a feel for it before then.

We need you to log in to your account and RSVP for this meet by Sunday at midnight. For all meets going forward from here you will do the same - RSVP for the meet by midnight the Sunday before. You can do this one of two ways. After you sign in you can go to ACTIONS and then PARENT PAGE and RSVP from there. The second way is to go to the calendar and select the Red VS Black meet and click on the RSVP button. If you have any special instructions (they will be leaving early, they can't swim butterfly etc) there is a notes box for you to write any requests you may have. All stroke requests become final on Tuesdays so please talk to your age group coach or Elizabeth Green before then. Please, let us know if you have any questions or are having a hard time logging into your account.  From either page you can also double check your volunteer shifts and times. Please double check that you are signed up for the correct number of shifts (including your concession shift). We still have a few shifts left that need to be filled and a couple of new positions have been added. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has signed up! It takes a village as the saying goes.....

3.) The only text messages that will go out will be thru the Remind 101 system. If you have not signed up please text @scsealions to 81010.
