Coaches Minutes from the Trailwood Meet
Howdy Sea Lions!
What a great first meet for the 6 and unders! We want to say a big thank you to the age group parents who helped out and made this duel meet awesome. We couldn't be more proud of our swimmers! We saw a lot of improvement from the red/black meet and are ready to continue working in practice. This week we will be focusing on backstroke and diving. See you all at practice!

Hello to all! Great meet Sea Lions! The swimmers had a great first official meet. Trailwood was a tough team, and I enjoyed all the close races! Seeing kids step out of their comfort zone and swim some of the “scary” events is fun to watch from a coaching perspective. We will start tuning in on stroke corrections to lessen the number of DQ’s for next week. Let’s keep encouraging our swimmers to continue to give 100% this week at practice, and I look forward to our upcoming meet.

What a great start to the season! Unfortunately I had to leave early to go back to Austin and take a final, but from what I saw and heard about from the other coaches, I'd say it was a successful meet! We have things to work on, but we will continue to improve throughout the season. It's only the first meet, and those disqualification numbers will go down. To help with that, please have your kids warm up, especially the little kids. That extra few laps in the pool really helps when it comes time for them to dive in and swim. Looking forward to next meet!

"I saw a lot of really good things at the meet this weekend. Our turns and finishes looked fantastic across the board, and I look forward to refining them this week. In practice this week, myself and the other coaches will be working to refine turns and stroke efficiency. I am excited for my first week back and can't wait to hit the ground running. Keep up the good work!"

I am very proud of the swimmers and how they performed this weekend. I saw a lot of spirit and hard work from everyone. Many swimmers improved their times from the last meet which is awesome! There were a few disqualifications, so we will continue working on proper form and improving everyone’s technique. Quicker reaction time off the blocks is another thing we will be working on so they can have the fastest start possible.
