    SCSL is looking for coaches for 2018!

     

    Attention Sea Lions!  We are currently seeking the best, the brightest and the most spectacular coaches for our 2018 swim season!

     

    Please get your resumes submitted by Thursday 1November 30th, 2017 to [email protected]along with three professional references (not required for returning coaches)

     

    We are so sympathetic to those of you who have experienced damage to your homes and upheaval in your lives from Harvey and we are amazed at the way we have come together as a community to help each other.  Our Sand Creek Sea Lions swim team is one of the best and most amazing ways we come together each year and please be assured we will be back in 2018 bigger and stronger than ever!

     

    Last year we asked for volunteers for swim team board positions and were overwhelmed with the response.  We had more volunteers than positions available!  Arf! Arf!  This week we will be sending out notifications to those that were selected for 2018 to confirm your commitment and to provide some information on the position.  If you were not selected please be assured we appreciate your interest and all the wonderful things you do for this swim team.

     

     

    SAND CREEK SEA LIONS SWIM TEAM COACH JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The primary goal of the Sand Creek Swim Team is to offer a fun and competitive summer swim program to the youth (ages 5 to 18) of Sand Creek and neighboring communities in theKingwood area.  The coaches’ key objectives are to aid swimmers in mastering strokes, setting and achieving goals, practicing good sportsmanship & developing confidence through swimming.

    Responsibilities:

    • Participate actively throughout swim season (approximately May through early July) while maintaining a safe and positive teaching environment.

    • Obtain necessary safety and sport related certifications as required.

    • Support the Sand Creek Sea Lions with excellent team spirit and willingness to do what it takes to have a successful swim season.

    • Plan workouts which include appropriate technique and stroke development.

    • Prepare facilities and organize swimmers for practices and meets.

    • Participate throughout the entire swim meet, including preparation of rosters and relay assignments, meet set up, warm-ups, all events, take down, etc.

    • Effectively communicate each athlete’s progress to the swimmer and parents where appropriate.

    • Continue the great Sea Lions’ tradition of fun pep rallies, awesome cheers, creative performances, and social activities that make our team fun for everyone, not just the most competitive swimmers.

       

    Qualifications:

      • Must be a high school graduate, or graduating during the active swim season

      • Must have extensive competitive swimming experience

      • Enthusiastic, dynamic presence with good communication skills

      • Completion of successful background check

        Preferred:

      • Former swimmer of the Sand Creek Swim Team

      • Prior coaching/mentoring experience

      • Experience working with children

         

        Successful applicants will be awesome Sea Lions Coaches working with fantastic kids!  Coaches are employees contracted at an hourly rate that will be assigned based on experience and position (Coach, Head Coach) unless otherwise specified.
